PICTURE ARCHIVING AND COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
PACS means Picture Archiving and Communication System and it is very basic and important system for diagnostic imaging. Briefly speaking, PACS has a server system with hard drive for archiving images and a computer with DICOM Viewer for diagnostic imaging.
DICOM means Digital Imaging and Communication in Medicine. It is the format made by ACR and NEMA for diagnostic imaging.
The images in hard data will never be deteriorated.
It is easy to hand the images to the patients because digital images can be baked on CD or DVD.
If the doctor uses a fine DICOM Viewer, he will use many functions and he will be able to diagnose extremely precisely.
