Interview with Dr. Shunji Yoshimatsu, M.D. Department of Radiology (*)
About the hospital
The hospital has started using PACS in the radiology department since 2005 and started their hospital-wide filmless workflow since 2007.
At first, they were concerned about terminating films and using the system instead, but they have really come to value the system since it started.
Some of them even said they couldn’t do the diagnostic imaging without PACS.
Why did you choose PSP?
We can always rely on PSP without worries thanks to their flexibility to adapt to our needs.
We had the data capacity increased 5 years after the implementation of PACS and have been using PSP PACS since then.
What are the appeals of PSP products?
“Effective speed for emergency care”
A lot of patients come to our emergency outpatient unit every day. After all, diagnostic imaging is crucial for emergency care. Without the filmless workflow, we couldn’t immediately look into scanned images.
128-row CT and 64-row CT have expedited our examinations since they were newly installed in the hospital. This means adding a 128-row CT for 4-dimentional scan, to where a 3-dimentional CT data has been stored over a period of time. The data has more than doubled, yet, EV Insite System can quickly process and display detailed images. This is the advantage of EV Insite System.
We often receive requests to interpret images once examination is completed and EV Insite System has enabled us to deal with almost all of the requests in a timely manner.
Customizability of shortcut keys and right-click menu also expedites our workflow.
